The only thing your teaching trains is you

Terms of Service

Beta terms · last updated August 21, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Seekwense ("we"). We've kept them in plain English on purpose — if any line here doesn't make sense, that's our failure, not yours. Questions first, always: hello@seekwense.com.

Seekwense is in its first-cohort beta and is currently free. These are our working terms for that period, written carefully and in good faith but not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Before anyone is ever charged money, these terms will be finalized with legal review and you'll be notified of any changes. Nothing in that process will weaken the promises below for content you've already stored.

The promise, up front

These five commitments are the heart of the agreement. Everything below adds detail; nothing below contradicts them.

  1. Your teaching stays yours. Everything you put in - sequences, journal photos, transcripts, voice notes - remains your property, full stop.
  2. We never train AI models on your work without your explicit opt-in. Not us, and not the AI providers we use. Using Seekwense is not consent to training; only a separate, clearly-labeled yes is.
  3. This promise binds whoever comes after us. If Seekwense is ever acquired, merged, or its assets sold, your content transfers only under these same commitments.
  4. You can export everything, anytime. Your notebook, plans, debriefs - in usable formats, no fee, no friction. There's an export button on your profile.
  5. You can delete everything, anytime. Deletion is real: content is removed from live systems within 7 days, and disappears from backups as backups expire, within 30 days.

1. What Seekwense is

Seekwense is a class planning companion for yoga and movement teachers. It builds class plans from your own material, takes your after-class voice or typed debriefs, and keeps a teaching journal that improves with use. Plans are generated with AI assistance grounded in your notebook - they are drafts in your voice, not gospel.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and provide a working email address - email plus a sign-in link is your identity; there are no passwords. You're responsible for activity under your account, and for keeping access to your email secure. One account per person; don't share it (each notebook is one teacher's voice - sharing muddies exactly the thing that makes it work).

3. Your material, our license, and the two rooms

Ownership. You own your content. We claim no rights over your sequences, cues, notes, recordings, plans, or anything derived from them for your use.

Our license. You grant us only the narrow license needed to run the service for you: to store your content, process it (transcribe recordings, read journal photos, clean transcripts, index it for your own retrieval), and generate plans for you from it. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except as needed to complete deletion.

The map, not the territory. Separate from your content, Seekwense owns data about the service that contains no one's content and identifies no one: aggregate usage patterns, quality and performance metrics, and improvements to shared reference material we curate (for example, better mappings between pose names). This is how we make the product better and how the business stays a business - it never includes your words, your sequences, your recordings, or anything traceable to you or your students.

The two rooms. Your notebook holds material you attest is your own; plans are built only from it. Your study shelf holds other people's work - reference material, someone else's sequences. The shelf is never used to generate plans; that separation is enforced in our database permissions, not just promised here.

Your attestation. When you check "this is my own material," we rely on that. Don't put other people's work in your notebook - that's what the shelf is for. You're responsible for having the right to upload whatever you upload.

4. Recordings, transcripts, and other people

Debriefs (your after-class voice notes) are recorded by you, stored privately under your account, and transcribed. Voice requests and spoken ideas are transcribed in memory and the audio is never stored.

Keep individuals out. Seekwense is built to know the teacher deeply and students barely at all. Our transcript cleaning removes student names and non-teacher voices before class transcripts join your notebook, and our tagging never names people. Do your part: don't deliberately record or write personal or sensitive information about identifiable students, and if you record a class where students are audible, obtaining any consent your studio or local law requires is on you.

5. Export and deletion

Use the in-product controls: "Export my notebook" on your profile delivers your content in usable formats (markdown, JSON, and your original files) at no charge, and every item has a Remove that deletes it along with its stored original (photo, audio, raw transcript). To close your account entirely, email hello@seekwense.com from your account address - no forms to fight, no retention tricks; we'll confirm it's you, offer you an export, and remove everything, cascading through plans, debriefs, and files, within 7 days. Backups are not selectively editable - deleted content leaves them as they expire, within 30 days. We keep only what law requires us to keep, if anything, and nothing more.

6. AI honesty and your responsibility as the teacher

Plans are AI-assisted drafts grounded in your material. They can be wrong, awkward, or unsafe for a specific body in a specific room. You are the teacher: review every plan before teaching it, adapt it to the people in front of you, and use your professional judgment. Seekwense is not medical advice, injury screening, or a substitute for training. You're responsible for the safety and content of the classes you teach.

7. Fair use

Voice transcription has a generous monthly allowance (120 minutes - normal use never approaches it; it exists to stop runaways and abuse). Typing is never limited. Don't: resell or share access, scrape or bulk-extract the service, probe other teachers' data, use the service to build a competing dataset, or upload malicious content. We may set other reasonable limits to keep the service healthy, and we'll say so plainly when we do.

Lawful content only. Seekwense stores teaching material: pages, plans, sequences, your own voice notes. Don't upload content that is illegal, that sexualizes or endangers anyone, that infringes someone else's rights, or imagery of people who haven't consented. Everything you store is private to your account - but private is not exempt: we may remove violating content and close the account, and where the law requires it (for example, child sexual abuse material), we will preserve evidence and report to the authorities. The photo pipeline also declines images that aren't pages of teaching material - they are refused and not stored.

8. Beta terms

During the beta: Seekwense is free for the cohort period; features will change, sometimes weekly; we may ask for feedback (never required); and despite our best efforts, availability is not guaranteed. We'll give cohort members at least 30 days' notice before any paid plan begins, and no charge ever starts without your explicit agreement to a price.

9. The services we build on

We use a small set of trusted service providers to run Seekwense - for hosting, database and file storage, sign-in email, voice transcription, and AI plan generation. Each processes your content only as needed to provide their service to us, under agreements or settings that do not permit training on your content. We don't sell your data, run ads, or use third-party advertising trackers. The privacy page has the details.

10. Disclaimers and limits on liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent the law allows: we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

11. Ending things

You can close your account anytime - Section 5 governs what happens to your content (short version: export first if you want it, then it's gone). We can suspend or close accounts that break Section 7 or abuse the service, with notice and a chance to export unless the abuse makes that unsafe. If Seekwense ever shuts down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice and keep export working through the end.

12. Changes to these terms

We'll email you before material changes take effect, in plain language, with what changed and why. Changes never weaken "The promise, up front" retroactively for content you've already stored - a weakening change, if ever, would apply only if you affirmatively accept it.

13. The legal frame

These terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts, and disputes go to the courts of Hampshire County, Massachusetts, except where your local consumer law says otherwise. If a section is held unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms plus the privacy page are the whole agreement.
